A month after Right at Home announced that Brian Petranick resigned from his long-held position as president and CEO, the company appointed Margaret Haynes — formerly the COO — to the role.
“I’m really humbled by the fact that I have the opportunity now to serve as the CEO and president of Right at Home,” Haynes told Home Health Care News. “It’s because of the strong foundation that Allen Hager, who is our founder, and Brian Petranick, our prior CEO and president, built that I feel so supported. We’ve got such a phenomenal network of franchise owners and master licensees across the other countries that we operate in, and just together, we are so passionate about our mission.”
For those who’ve been watching closely, the move should not come as a surprise.
Since Petranick’s resignation in March, Haynes had taken over his day-to-day duties.
A Right at Home veteran, Haynes brings more than 25 years of senior management experience to the role and has been with the company for a decade.
During that time, Haynes has overseen Right at Home’s operations and had a hand in strengthening its internal infrastructure.
Her time as COO has given her the opportunity to see the business from lots of different perspectives, she told HHCN.
“It’s given me the opportunity to learn all aspects of the operations, and how we can help our franchisees build sustainable and profitable businesses,” she said. “At the same time, how do we help bring the Right at Home mission to life in all the local communities where we have franchise locations? At the end of the day, that’s what we’re really focused on.”
Over the years, Right at Home has added many new leaders to its roster, but Haynes’ appointment as CEO and president is the first major one at the company.
Looking ahead, Haynes has a number of goals as CEO, but future growth is top of mind.
“We want to expand our reach across the globe,” she said. “We have goals that we’re focused on this year, and obviously long-term, in terms of continuing to fill the map in areas where we don’t have a presence today.”
Right at Home’s global headquarters is based in Omaha, Nebraska. It has more than 650 franchise locations in the U.S. and seven other countries, making in one of the largest home care franchise organizations in the home care industry.
