Steve Rodgers is stepping down as the CEO of AccentCare.
Laura Tortorella, the former COO of Steward Health Care, has been tapped as his replacement.
Rodgers led AccentCare for more than a decade, beginning his time as CEO in July of 2012. He was formerly the CEO of OptumHealth Collaborative Care, a division of UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH).
At the time Rodgers joined AccentCare, the company had about 125 locations in 10 states.
Today, the Dallas-based provider delivers home health, hospice and palliative care services through more than 250 locations across 31 states and the District of Columbia. It is one of the five largest home health providers in the entire country.
“I have had the honor of working with an incredible team at AccentCare for more than a decade,” Rodgers said in a statement. “During that time, the organization has experienced growth through the expansion of existing services into new markets, creation of joint ventures with leading health systems, acquisitions and mergers and the addition of new care offerings. Looking back to where we started and seeing where we stand now, I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished and I look forward to working with Laura as she assumes the role of CEO.”
In 2019, the global private equity firm Advent International acquired AccentCare from Oak Hill Capital Partners.
In 2020, AccentCare merged with Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care.
Tortorella had been COO at Steward Health Care since November of 2020. She previously served as the executive vice president of operations, and had been with the company since 2010.
Also based in Dallas, Steward Health Care is an integrated health system that operates 33 community hospitals across nine states.
