The 2012 HomeCare Elite list was announced last week, ranking the top 100 and top 500 home health agencies in the nation.
Gentiva Health Services, Amedisys Home Health, and Maxim Healthcare Services topped the list this year.
Using publicly available data from Home Health Compare and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), OCS HomeCare and DecisionHealth compiled its seventh annual list, comparing agency performance across five domains.
This year, HomeCare Elite ranked in areas related to quality of care, quality improvement, patient experience, process measure implementation, and financial performance.
Agency performance in each domain was compared against other organizations’ performances in their state and nationwide areas. These domains were then combined into one overall score, which made up each agency’s rank.
The top 25% of agencies in each region were identified and added to the national list in addition to the top 100 and 500 nationwide agencies.
